Iran's Navy launches new 3-D radar called "ASR"
One day before the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy (IRIN)
marks its anniversary on November 28th called Navy Day, the IRIN revealed its
latest defense achievement. Wednesday Iran’s Naval Commander Rear Admiral
Habibollah Sayyari alongside the Deputy Commander of the Iranian Army,
Brigadier General Abdolrahim Mousavi hasve launched the production of a new
3-dimensional Air Surveillance Radar called “ASR”. ASR is a 3-D solid state
radar with a phased array system. ASR has a tracking and extracting capabilities
with target range and bearing information system. ASR has the functionality and
detectability of low-radar cross section (RCS) to detect boats far from the
coast, low-flying planes and missiles. Brig. Gen. Mousavi talked about the
advancements of Iran’s Navy.
IRIN Deputy Commander explained how Iran Navy has advanced
with new defense achievements despite sanctions against by the US and some
allies against Iran in the fields of defense and technology . The IRIN’s next
project is to build an educational vessel to sail in the Persian Gulf and Sea
of Oman.
Hmmm, look like nice targets for Hellfire bearing drones. Just like hoodies make excellent targets for gun bearing American Constitutionalists.
