Water leakage from the helmet while walking in the space
NASA has taken steps to stop the walk in the space as in a
Italian Astronaut as there was a water leakage in his helmet while
walking. The engineers are surprised on this.
The Italian astronaut Luca Pamitano on his second walk in the
space has reported that he feels that collection of water in the back of his head.
Suddenly, he couldn’t talk and had stopped hearing anything. The
situation was back to normal after taking him back to the space station.
The Agency says that they have not experienced such a conflict
situation before and they think that the reason for the leakage could be the
leakage in the drinking water bag taken by the astronauts inside their
helmet. Also, there could be a leakage from the cooling system in
the costume. But, the engineers say that this problem that arose cannot
be understood.
They say that if the leakage exists further, the astronaut
would face a breathing problem.
Though Pamitano was supposed to have a space walk for 6 hours
and 15 minutes, he had to hold it in 1 hour 32 minutes. When he removed
the helmet after coming back to the chamber, the water was seen floating.
